McCain’s Growing Net Roots and Donations

The network of McCain supporter sites is going through a growth spurt, right, left, and center. On July 1st, the anniversary of John McCain’s promotion to Commander of Attack Squadron 174 in 1976, the founders of John McCain 2008 Social Network and McCain Now are launching LetsGetThisRight.com. They have worked tirelessly to launch a site that focuses on supporting Senator McCain and local Republicans across the country. They are looking to raise money for a series of candidates in important races.

On the other side of the spectrum, let me welcome Clinton supporters who now support Senator McCain to the club. The establishment and networking of Clinton supporters not willing to support Senator Obama, has been impressive to say the least. Over 125 sites and blogs have emerged within a few weeks. A list of all (or most) is available at Just Say No Deal. Here are a few that have already established a significant following. Clintons 4 McCain, Savage Politics, Puma Party (which includes the Puma Party forum), Done Dems, Hillary Clinton Forum, and Dems 4 McCain. Certainly, not all who have decided not to vote Obama have committed to voting McCain. However, there is mounting evidence that many Clinton supporters will vote McCain.

Some Hillary supporters have even decided to donate to Senator McCain’s campaign on July 4th. As a show of support, many long time McCain supporters have also agreed to contribute on that day. The request is that Hillary supporters make donations in amounts like $5.44, $25.44, or $125.44 and others donate in whole dollar amounts so Clinton supporters can be differentiated and counted.

Battleground States ‘08 is a contributor based blog giving a state to state perspective on the presidential race.
Local Republicans similarly is a contributor based blog focused on down ticket candidates and state and local Republican candidates.
Grand Old Partisan is an excellent site for those interested in history. It remembers that the GOP is the party of Abraham Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt.

There is a part of me that would like to cut California loose and let it float on over to France where it belongs. That however, would be giving up on the hundreds of thousands of sane good American citizens living there that see through the horrid liberal agenda.

The Supreme Court ruled in 1969 that student expression against the Vietnam War could not be quashed in public schools. The ruling stated that neither "students or teachers shed their constitutional rights to freedom of speech or expression at the schoolhouse gate."

It is time for serious people to get this right!

It is time for serious people to do serious things. On July 1st we are going to launch Let's Get This Right and www.letsgetthisright.com. Thanks to some high-powered long-time Republican operatives, the e-mail attached below will be going out to roughly 150,000 people in the next few days announcing Let's Get This Right.

That will be followed up with Press Releases to all the major news outlets.

What we are shooting for is rather modest. $10,000 in donations to John McCain and $1,000 to our selected candidates by our official launch date of July 1st.

Why July 1st? It is McCain Promotion Day. On July 1st, 1976 John McCain was promoted to Squadron Commander of Attack Squadron 174.John McCain was promoted to lead men into battle when Barack Obama was still in a private prep school in Hawaii.

Partly it is strategic. Let's Get This Right is bigger than just the McCain Campaign. We do not believe this has to be a horrible year for Republicans. We can hold seats and win seats if we go out and do the work that must be done. Let's Get This Right.

If we can get supporters of local candidates enthused about John McCain they will turn out. If we can get McCain supporters nationwide to support local candidates, they will feed back to the national campaign.

The candidates we picked are either being targeted by liberal interest groups and bloggers, trying to hold on to Republican seats or are in key swing states that McCain needs huge turnouts to counter the Obama Machine that broke it's promise to take public financing because, as the old line, Chicago Party Democrat he is, he saw the political advantage of breaking his word.

Obama Crowd Boos Clinton

Last night at an Obama rally in Detroit, Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm, who had previously endorsed Senator Clinton, took to the stage to show her solidarity with Barack Obama now that the voters (or the party insiders as the case may be) have handed him the nomination. But Granholm, like Team McCain, still seems to hold Senator Clinton in high esteem--she tried to praise the former first lady as a "great American."

She couldn't even get the words out before the crowd turned on her and began booing. Here's the tape, watch it for yourself. We just want to assure Senator Clinton's supporters that their attendance at McCain rallies will be warmly recieved, by Senator McCain and his supporters. Of course, if Senator Clinton wants to show up to any of our events in person...consider this an open invitation.

Do any of you remember a few years back when the Discovery Channel aired it’s special

“Raising The Mammoth?” Well, I sure as hell do.

I don’t remember exactly how long Discovery promoted this much anticipated television event but it sure as heck seemed like it went on for at least a year. They had advertisements in every issue of their magazine, during every commercial break on their network. They had intense, dramatic and very well produced TV ads running on practically any channel you ‘clicked’ to. They advertised in news-papers, radio, flyers . . .they even got local papers to pick up the story.

As the “television event”, (and that is what they built it into, an actual ‘event’) drew near the ads became even more intense. TV ads were turned into “mini-epics”. The “promotion” of this “Mammoth Event” seemed to dwarf any and all programming on TV for the entire season. The phrasing and verbiage changed as well.

Discovery began by “suggesting” you would or should watch. They suggested “others” would be watching. They “implied” it could be a “television event”. They suggested the program would change TV, change your thinking!

Around the last month of the promotion and “hype” they were literally “Telling You” that you “could not miss this television event!” They were “telling you” that you were going to watch. They were telling you that “The World” would be watching. They were telling you that is was going to “change your thinking . . . forever!”

Obama Advisor Susan Rice's Major Historical/Foreign Policy Error

Unfortunately, Susan Rice's statement regarding the Kennedy Khrushchev meeting, "Thank God he did because if he hadn't we would have not been able to resolve the Cuban Missile Crisis" is completely false. In fact historians agree that this meeting fueled the Cuban Missile Crisis.

The Weekly Standand, in detailing the Kennedy Khrushchev meeting, quotes NYT columnist James Reston who interviewed President Kennedy right after his meeting with Khrushchev,

"Reston reported that Kennedy said just enough for Reston to conclude that Khrushchev "had studied the events of the Bay of Pigs" and that he had "decided that he was dealing with an inexperienced young leader who could be intimidated and blackmailed." Kennedy said to Reston that Khrushchev had "just beat [the] hell out of me" and that he had presented Kennedy with a terrible problem: "If he thinks I'm inexperienced and have no guts, until we remove those ideas we won't get anywhere with him. So we have to act."

Kennedy responded to the meeting with a congressional request for a dramatic increase in defense spending, and a significant increase in the size of the military. Khrushchev responded to Kennedy's actions with above ground nuclear testing and erecting the Berlin Wall. The tensions between the US and Soviet Union dramatically increased due to the Kennedy Khrushchev meeting; the Cuban Missile Crisis followed.

Susan Rice's statement is simply false. There is no historical record of the Kennedy Khrushchev meeting being at all helpful in resolving the Cuban Missile Crisis and actually the exact opposite true that an inexperienced leader was bullied into an arms race.

Governor Mike Huckabee is headed back to New Hampshire to campaign for Bob Clegg! He was one of Huck's most ardent supporters and is now running for Congress in New Hampshire's 2nd District (and is endorsed by Governor Huckabee). Here's the details of Huckabee's swing with Clegg from Clegg's campaign:

Former Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee is coming back to New Hampshire - and he's bringing his bass guitar.

Huckabee will be campaigning for state Sen. Bob Clegg, a Republican candidate for Congress from Hudson. Clegg, who was one of Huckabee's most prominent supporters during the New Hampshire primary, will campaign with the former Arkansas governor on June 8 and 9 in Nashua. The pair will attend the Nashua "Summer Jam" on June 8, where Huckabee may join in the music.

Music-making was a big part of Huckabee's campaign. As governor, he was in a band called Capitol Offense.

Gov. Huckabee Returns To New Hampshire For Summer Jam!

Gov. Huckabee Returns to New Hampshire

New Hampshire State Senator Bob Clegg, the Huck PAC endorsed candidate for Congress for the 2^nd Congressional District Seat in New Hampshire announced that Governor Mike Huckabee is returning to the Granite State to join his good friend, Senator Bob Clegg, as he files his papers to run for US Congress.

Governor Huckabee recently said this about Bob Clegg "When Bob Clegg is elected to Congress, he will take the same no-nonsense style and effective leadership to Washington that he has shown in Concord. He has been one of the most respected, effective, and sometimes even feared legislators in New Hampshire. He will go to Congress for all the right reasons."

Senator Clegg said "Mike Huckabee represents what is right in American politics." If you live in New Hampshire, the fun begins Sunday night, June 8^th with a "Summer Jam" in Nashua. Friends are invited to join Governor Huckabee and Senator Clegg for what is sure to be a fun evening. Additional details will be posted as they become available.
